Cloud sync
Connect this device to a sync code and your work follows you across phone and computer. Any change pushes to the cloud automatically. Opening the app on another device pulls the latest.
How sync works
- Every change you make is pushed to the cloud after about 1.5 seconds.
- Opening the app or refocusing the tab pulls the latest version from the cloud.
- If two devices change the same thing offline, the last write wins. (No merge conflicts handled.)
- Your sync code acts like a password. Don't share it. Disconnect a device by clicking the button above.
- If you lose the code, your cloud data is unrecoverable. Save it somewhere safe (notes app, password manager).
Backup & restore
Your work is stored only in this browser. Save a copy to your device (Downloads on desktop, Files on iPhone, Downloads on Android) so it's safe if you clear your browser or switch devices.
What gets saved?
- Save current project — only the active project, plus its characters, ideas, world entries, research, and timeline events.
- Save everything — all projects and all their notes, in one file.
- Restore from file — pick a JSON file you saved earlier. You'll be asked whether to merge (add to what's here, skip duplicates) or replace (wipe everything and load only the file).
The file is plain JSON. Keep it somewhere safe (your computer's Documents folder, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox). It's the only copy outside your browser.
